INITIAL ASSESSMENT / 1ST MEETING (click for details)

The first meeting is a crucial opportunity for us to get to know each other in person. I observe your dog in its natural environment, assess the relationship you have with it, and listen to your needs and expectations.

This session isn't just for getting to know each other: in many cases, I begin right away to offer useful practical advice, especially when there are behaviors that should be addressed immediately.
For this reason, the first meeting has tangible value and often represents a first step toward change.

Dog Training & Behavioral Issues (click for details)

I offer customized programs to improve your relationship with your dog, based on an understanding of your dog's behavior and clear, effective communication.

As a dog trainer, I can help you with both basic training and managing common behavioral issues, such as:

Aggression, fear, pulling on the leash, separation anxiety, difficulties in the dog-owner relationship, and other problematic behaviors.

Classes are held in real-world settings (cities, parks, walking areas), not at a dog training camp.

Home Visits (details)

Home visits are an essential service for addressing the specific needs of both the dog and the owner in the home environment.

I observe the dog's behavior in various household settings—such as interactions with family members, reactions to visitors, and responses to external stimuli—and offer advice on how to improve life together.

This service is particularly suitable for:
✔️ Newly adopted puppies (housebreaking, bite control, etc.)
✔️ Dogs that need to learn to be left alone at home
✔️ Problems between dogs in the home
✔️ Difficulties getting along with the family, etc.

Puppy Package for 2–5 Months (click for details)

The classes are designed to build a strong, positive bond between you and your puppy, starting from the first few months of life. Through games, targeted activities, and real-life situations, your puppy will learn the basics of training in a stimulating, safe, and fun environment.

The course consists of 5 lessons, which are considered the minimum number needed to effectively cover all the fundamental topics:

  • Daily Care for Your Puppy

  • fair and constructive play

  • basic education

  • walking on a leash

  • exposure to different contexts and environments

Don't miss the chance to build a strong, lasting relationship right from the start

Pre-adoption counseling, including online sessions (click for details)

Adopting a dog is a big decision: find out if now is really the right time for you and how to find the best companion for your family.

During this online consultation, I’ll guide you through the selection process, and together we’ll analyze:

  • the characteristics of different dog breeds and types

  • A dog's real needs in everyday life

  • typical behaviors and individual needs

  • your expectations, habits, and lifestyle

You'll receive practical advice to help you make an informed and responsible choice, while avoiding common mistakes.
Because your future dog deserves the best, right from the start.

Bach Flower Remedies Consultation (click for details)

In some cases, a dog’s behavioral difficulties may be accompanied by complex emotional states, such as insecurity, fear, or hyperactivity.
As part of a structured training program, Bach Flower Remedies can be incorporated as a gentle and natural support tool, designed to guide the animal through the process of change.

Bach Flower Remedies counseling is not a substitute for dog training, but it can offer additional support, always in conjunction with the practical and relational work done with the dog and its owner.

FAQ and Terms and Conditions

📅 PENALTIES AND CANCELLATIONS:

By booking and purchasing an initial session, a class, or a package, you agree to this cancellation policy.

Initial Consultation / Initial Assessment

(New customers – payment in advance)

The first session is often booked several weeks in advance. To ensure proper organization and set aside sufficient time for each dog-owner pair, advance payment of CHF 80 at the time of booking.

  • Cancellation with at least 48 hours' notice: You will not lose your payment, and the appointment will simply be rescheduled.
  • Cancellation with less than 48 hours' notice: The amount is non-refundable.

    One-on-one lessons

(Existing customers – payment at the end of the lesson)

Individual lessons can be canceled or rescheduled free of charge up to 48 hours before the appointment.

If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, you will be charged 100% of the lesson fee.

    Package of 5 lessons

(Payment for the entire package is due at the first class)

The package includes one free lesson with the purchase of five individual lessons and is therefore paid in full at the first appointment.

The five lessons are scheduled from the very first contact to ensure continuity in the educational program and proper scheduling.

Dates can be rescheduled, but only subject to availability. During certain periods, the new appointment may be scheduled several weeks later.

If a class is canceled with less than 48 hours notice, the lesson will be considered completed and therefore forfeited.

Cancellation of the entire package before the start

If a package that has already been booked and for which all dates have been agreed upon is canceled before the start of the trip, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total value of the package.

Interruption of the itinerary and/or the customer being unreachable during the package

The program is designed to be carried out on an ongoing basis.

If the customer interrupts the program without responding to messages, continues to cancel appointments without rescheduling them, or remains unreachable for an extended period despite being offered several alternative dates, CaneFelice reserves the right to consider the package terminated.

In such cases, any unused lessons are considered forfeited and cannot be made up or refunded.

    FAQ

🩺 Are you what's known as a behaviorist?

No 🙂 I’m a dog trainer with a cantonal diploma, and I hold an ATN diploma as a behavior consultant.
A so-called “behaviorist” is simply a veterinarian who specializes in behavior.
I actively collaborate with veterinarians who specialize in behavior for the most complex cases or those that fall outside my area of expertise (medical conditions, behavioral disorders, etc.).

💊 Can I ask you for some advice about my dog's health?

No. I do not provide medical advice (e.g., drug therapies, clinical nutrition, diagnoses, vaccinations).
These matters fall exclusively within the purview of a veterinarian, and I do not have the expertise to do so.

📍 Where do you hold your classes?

I primarily work in the Lugano and Mendrisiotto areas . I often conduct the initial consultation or assessment at the client’s home (barring any unforeseen circumstances). Lessons take place in urban settings. I do NOT have a dog training field. Exceptions in other areas of Ticino are possible.

    👨‍👩‍👧 Who attends the classes?

We strongly recommend that the whole family attend the first session.
    During the hands-on lessons, however,
we need to stay focused, so we generally limit participation to just the instructor (or at most two people).

🎓 How long is a class?

A lesson lasts an average of 45–60 minutes.
The duration may vary depending on the dog, the type of training, and the goals. The initial evaluation usually lasts a little over an hour, as does the pre-adoption consultation. Puppy lessons, on the other hand, last no more than 45 minutes.

Can I still contact you after the program is over?

Yes, I'd be more than happy to—as my clients already know, I continue to support them in the weeks and months following the end of the classes.
